Getting Started Guide

A complete walkthrough of the initial setup — what to fill in right from day one so every calculation (consumption, cost per km, comparison against a combustion car) is accurate from your very first session.

1. Creating your account and first vehicle

1 On the welcome screen, click Create account and enter your name, email, and password.

2 Check your email (including your spam folder) and click the confirmation link.

3 After logging in, you'll be prompted to set up your first database — enter a name (e.g. your car's name), your main currency, and your battery's usable capacity in kWh.

Tip One account can hold up to two separate databases (e.g. two cars in a household) — add a second one anytime via "+ Add database" in the top bar.

2. Settings that actually matter

Before you start logging sessions, we recommend going through Settings and filling these in — the app works without them, but your numbers won't be accurate:

Vehicle ownership

Why this matters The app calculates "Distance covered" as the difference between consecutive charging sessions. If you bought the car used (or owned it for a while before your first entry), the app has no way of knowing about that "missing" distance without this setting.

Battery and currency

Combustion comparison

In Settings, enter your reference petrol and diesel consumption (L/100km) and their default prices — the app then calculates, for every session, what the same trip would have cost with a combustion car.

Tip The "Fuel price website" field lets you link your favourite fuel price page — the app then offers a button that opens it directly while you're logging a session.

3. Logging your first session

1 Go to Add Session.

2 Choose the charging type — AC (slow, home/street charger) or DC (fast, highway).

3 Enter the provider (PRE, Tesla, Ionity...), how many kWh you actually charged, the current odometer reading, and the price.

4 The app shows a live preview of your cost per km and combustion comparison as you type — so you can sanity-check the numbers before saving.

4. Reading the Insights dashboard

The Insights tab is the first thing you see after logging in. The key indicators:

IndicatorWhat it means
Total energySum of kWh across all logged sessions
Charging costWhat you've paid for electricity in total
Total cost (all-in)Charging plus any flat-rate tariffs combined
Distance coveredSum of km between consecutive sessions (see the settings above if this doesn't match your odometer)
Battery cyclesHow many times you've "cycled" through a full battery's worth of capacity
vs. Petrol / vs. DieselHow much you've saved (or lost) compared to a combustion vehicle
Purchase priceThe vehicle's final price, based on your owner type
Cost per km (all-in)Everything combined — purchase, insurance, service, charging — divided by km owned. The longer you own the car, the more the purchase price gets diluted

6. Filtering and charts

In the Sessions tab you can filter by type (AC/DC), provider, month, or a custom date range — a summary above the table shows totals for whatever's currently filtered. Insights also includes a pie chart breaking down cost by provider.

7. Backing up your data

All your data is saved automatically to the cloud — log in from anywhere and it's there. For peace of mind (or your own analysis in Excel), you can also download a full backup anytime from Settings → Export backup as an .xlsx file.

8. Frequently asked questions

Why doesn't "Distance covered" match my odometer?

Usually because "Odometer at acquisition" isn't filled in under Settings — without it, the app only starts counting distance from your very first logged session, not from when you actually took ownership of the car. Fill it in and the numbers should line up (see section 2 above).

Why doesn't the app show "Distance covered" for my first session?

The app needs two points (two consecutive sessions) to calculate the distance between them. Your very first entry has no earlier point to compare against — either wait for a second session, or fill in "Odometer at acquisition" under Settings.

Can I use the app on my phone and computer at the same time?

Yes — just log in with the same account on any device and your data syncs automatically.

How do I stop using the app entirely?

Under Settings → Danger zone, you can delete a single database (vehicle) or your entire account, including all data — instantly and permanently.
